Online 4 week course: Conquering the fear of exercise: befriending sustainable movement

This course is all about why physical activity can feel like a foe or an enemy, especially when we are dealing with health conditions that create post-exertional malaise (PEM). We’ll talk about how your relationship with movement may have changed over time and what it’s like right now.

We will:

  • Acknowledge the reality of the human body's finite physiological energy

  • Consider and address how to manage PEM

  • Address the physical, mental, emotional and environmental barriers to physical activity

  • Explore how to explore the huge variety of movement opportunities, utilising breath and exploring your limits safely

  • Prepare for ups and downs

  • Play with new ways to re-engage in movement with new physical approaches and mindsets that respect your body's true capacity at this point in your recovery journey.
